Resin Bound Floor Cleaning

Resin bound flooring offers a visually appealing and versatile solution for low traffic areas. To create a smooth and level surface, aggregates (small stones) are thoroughly combined with resin in a specialized mixer. This mixture is then hand-applied for a beautiful result often called a "stone carpet." It is used in many modern building exteriors and is far more visually appealing than tarmac or concrete.

One of resin bound's key advantages is its permeability.  The mixed material includes small spaces between the stones which permit water to flow freely into the ground below.  This makes it a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) compliant option that often eliminates the need for planning permission in most areas (provided a suitable porous base material is used.) As it is permeable it can become colonised with organic growth however- and this can blight the appearance and finish.

Resin bound  flooring is often  applied over existing concrete or tarmac, making it perfect for refreshing driveways, paths, car parks, and other light traffic areas. Compared to alternative surfacing systems, resin bound stands out for its permeability, seamless appearance, and numerous other benefits. It has serious longevity - and is non-fade. This is in part down to it being both weed and frost resistant. It is slip resistant too without the hazards of decking for example.

Softwashing UK were contracted to clean and restore the resin bound floor at Peacock Place. This is in central London, Islington. We used steam and chemical treatments to attain excellent results. The client was delighted as they had been let down by other contractors who did not know the correct restoration method. We liaised closely with both tenants and our client to ensure that the job was delivered safely without a hitch- with no public interference.. You can see the results on the video below.
